“Tis the Season”
Decorating my home for the Holidays, is one of my favorite things to do. I have a pretty set tradition… I pop a bottle of champagne, my husband lugs up all the Christmas decorations, I put on Gossip Girl, and I start decorating. Gossip Girl continues to play until the minute the last present is wrapped. This year I decided to get a head start on decorating… you know with 2020 being as crazy as it has been aren’t we all allowed to have an extra long, extra festive Holiday season in our life?!?
Two years ago we decided to forgo the real Christmas tree for good, and purchase a fabulous artificial tree. Balsam Hill was my first choice for an artificial Christmas tree, primarily because all of their trees look so realistic and they have so many options when it comes to height, fullness, flocked/unflocked, lights/no lights, etc. My husband was against it at first, but once we received it and put it together – he has been a BIG fan ever since. It requires some work when it comes to fluffing the branches but other than that it’s a million times easier then a real tree AND the best part is that we can put it up whenever we want!
Every year I typically stick with a Metallic Christmas… Whites, Crystal, Golds, and a little bit of silver. And lots of greenery. I try to mix it all up with lots of textures…. furs, natural branches, sequins, and glitter. I have a decent supply of decor, but every year I walk down the Christmas decoration aisles and I can’t help but pick up some new goodies. This year I picked up some beautiful, glittery trees, metallic hurricane vases, and a couple new ornaments. The sparkly sunburst ornaments I picked up from Target really upped my tree game this year and the metallic hurricane vases I purchased from Michaels might even become a permanent fixture in our home.
