Let’s talk about skin. More importantly, My favorite skincare brand.
I am by no means, a dermatologist, a doctor, or even a skin expert. However, I love skincare. And, my skin has gone through so many changes in my 32 years of life that I’ve participated in a lot of trial and error in regards to skincare. You should always consult a dermatologist with any issues with your skin first. But, if you have done that and you are looking for some great product recommendations, I am here.
Hands down, my favorite products EVER… are by Skinceuticals! They are not paying me to say this, I just absolutely love them and what they have done for my skin…. without causing breakouts!
I started using Skinceutical products about 4 years ago. I was always intrigued by Skinceuticals, but to be honest, their hefty price tag was always a slight turn off for me. They had a cult following though and I had to figure out why. It just so happens that my dermatologist sells their products, so I picked up a bottle of C E Ferulic. I was hooked! I have used 5 drops of CE Ferulic everyday for 4 years now… rain or shine.. makeup or no makeup.
C E Ferulic
C E Ferulic is scientifically backed with 15% Pure Vitamin C, 1% Vitamin E, and 0.5% Ferulic Acid to help protect against environmental and oxidative damage to the skin. Think pollution and UVA/UVB rays! It improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. And while I was only 28 when I started using it, and therefore didn’t have any deep set wrinkles, it has improved my fine lines immensely!! Not to mention it has helped tame my melasma to a light tan instead of an aggressively deep brown.
My other two favorite products from Skinceuticals are HA Intensifier and Discoloration Defense. HA Intensifier is just a dynamite product that allows me to get some added hydration on my skin without feeling greasy. If I am going to be walking around the house all day without makeup on, it is my favorite way to moisturize. I also love the way it feels as an added under eye moisturizer. If I am planning on wearing makeup that day, I do layer an additional moisturizer and potentially an oil depending on how dry my skin is at the moment. Discoloration Defense I typically use at night to help combat my melasma. To be honest I really didn’t think at first that it was doing much, but after using the whole first bottle I could tell a HUGE difference. I love using this underneath my Retin-A product at night. It works as a little bit of a buffer, so my skin doesn’t get so dry.
HA Intensifier
HA Intensifier is a serum that contains Hyaluronic Acid, licorice root, and purple rice. The Hyaluronic Acid in the serum helps maintain your skins moisture levels while licorice root and purple rice help with your skins firmness, smoothness, and plumpness. Hyaluronic Acid is definitely a hero ingredient when it comes to moisturizing your skin!
Discoloration Defense
Discoloration Defense has 3% tranexamic acid, 1% kojic acid, 5% niacinamide, and 5% HEPES. All of which helps with brightening and evening out your skin tone. It’s proven to help with brown spots and acne discoloration. When I saw this serum had kojic acid and niacinamide in it I was sold. Both are hero products on their own, but together, amazing!!
I personally, always buy my Skinceutical products from the actual Skinceutical website, my dermatologist, or one of Skinceuticals authorized retailers. You might be able to get a deal on an unauthorized website, but it’s your face, and it’s not worth it!
