We just got back from the most AMAZING Jamaican vacation (cue the Jimmy Buffett music please). A vacation filled with sun, sand, the ocean, and lots of cold drinks poolside. Not to mention, a ton of family time spent playing tennis, volleyball, paddle boarding on the ocean, and gabbing by the pool.
We traveled to Jamaica’s beautiful South Coast and spent 8 full nights at Sandals South Coast (it used to be called Sandals WhiteHouse), an all inclusive hotel that is so beautiful!! The grounds are lush and green, the sand is white and sparkling, and every room has an ocean view! The ocean is the most beautiful shade of blue, and so clear that you can see bright orange starfish a 1/2 a mile from the shore; while paddling on your paddle board! You can catch glimpses of sea urchins, fish, and hermit crabs in conch shells just by getting close enough to the water to dip your toes in. We had the most wonderful time and would go back in a heartbeat!
Evenings were spent eating fabulous food while watching the most amazing sunsets and dancing and singing until the wee hours of the morning. Seriously though, who sleeps on vacation?!? We didn’t go on any excursions this trip, opting to stay on the resort property instead. The resort was so large and beautiful there really wasn’t any reason to leave. Also, it took about an hour and a 1/2 to get from the Montego Bay airport to the resort and we honestly didn’t want to waste any time away from the sun drinking from coconuts!
As far as style goes, I opted to pack lots of bathing suits, sun hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Fun bags and bright printed dresses and jumpsuits rounded out the mix of things packed into my suitcase! I tried out two new bathing suit brands this trip (new for me anyway) and fell in love with both of them. Along with my new go to sunscreen… no burning and my tan is still alive and well after arriving back in the North Idaho dry tundra that we call home.
